ATL or bust

I'm going with my best friend and some girls from her church to the Beth Moore conference for the weekend. I'm so excited. I'm going expecting God to reveal Himself to me in much deeper level. I sooo need this. Spiritually I've been so dry lately. Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend.

P.S. Did I mention Mandisa is going to be there & I LOVE her.

happy mothers day to me

For Mother's Day this year S got me this cool canopy/gazebo thing for the back patio.

He just got it set up about 3 weeks ago. We've been really enjoying it lately. I came home from work yesterday to find my canopy like this. Nice, eh? Obviously, a little storm blew through while I was at work and threw it over my house and wrapped it around this telephone pole in the front yard.

dear lurkers....

...please introduce yourself. I love meeting new folks and if you have a blog I'd love to follow it. You see that little counter at the bottom left on my page? Well, I just added that thing a couple of months ago so that tells me that I have lots of blog buddies that I don't know. I won't bite....I'm not scary.

I'll start....I'm Laura. I have 2 bio kids and we're adopting a baby girl from Ethiopia right now. I'm married to a super cool guy. We've been married 11 years (as of last weekend..woo hoo) Okay, now it's your turn....

week 5 & where to stay?

Week 5. Wow. It's going kind of fast. With the kids being out of school for the summer I have plenty to do to keep me busy.

So here's my QOTW (question of the week)....where did you stay in Ethiopia? Or where do you plan on staying? This whole time we've been thinking we'd stay at the Hilton but now I'm thinking we may do a guest house. Where did you stay and did you like it? Would you recommend it? I need some feedback. :)

Also, be prepared for plenty o' QOTW! I have so many questions for all those BTDT parents. I've not traveled alot so I have lots of questions. I'll save them for my next post.

Continue to pray for the families that are waiting.

What will you do?

Did you know that right now 126,000 children in Ethiopia are in URGENT need of care because of malnutrition? Did you know that 3.4 MILLION Ethiopians will need food aid in the next 6 months? Did you know that Ethiopia is in the middle of a severe drought that is causing them to lose all their crops, depleting them of all food sources? Now that you know can you sit back in the comfort of your air conditioned house eating pringles and do nothing? I hope not. I can't.

You can help by making a donation to UNICEF It doesn't have to be a HUGE amount (even though that would be awesome) every little bit helps.

Here's an article with more information on the conditions in Ethiopia right now.

Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Enter, you who are blessed by my Father! Take what's coming to you in this kingdom. It's been ready for you since the world's foundation. And here's why:

I was hungry and you fed me,
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink,
I was homeless and you gave me a room,
I was shivering and you gave me clothes,
I was sick and you stopped to visit,
I was in prison and you came to me.'

Then those 'sheep' are going to say, 'Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?' Then the King will say, 'I'm telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me. Matthew 25:34-40 (The Message)
