Happy Birthmothers Day

Today I've been thinking alot about Mercy's birthmother. It's birthmother's Day today and I wonder if she knows that Mercy is with a family that loves her more than life. Does she know that she's been adopted or does she think she's still sitting in an orphanage somewhere in Ethiopia. I wish there was a way to convey to her how grateful we are for her courage and sacrifice. She gave our family the ultimate gift and for that how do you say thank you.

I spent the last 30 minutes rocking Mercy to sleep and praying over her. I spent a lot of that time praying over her birthfamily as well. I pray that they will know in their hearts that Mercy is loved. I pray that all of their needs will be met. I pray they know Jesus. I pray that He fills their hearts with unspeakable peace and joy overflowing.

Tomorrow as I celebrate Mother's day for the first time as a mother of 3 I have to take time to honor her birthfamily. This wouldn't have been possible without their sacrifice.

I'm so honored to get to be Mercy's mom. It brings me so much joy. She's such an amazing gift.
